Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya, located in East Africa and serving as the region’s financial and economic hub. The city’s name comes from the Maasai phrase “Enkare Nyrobi,” meaning “place of cool waters,” and it was founded in 1899 as a supply depot for the Uganda Railway. Nairobi is unique among capital cities for having a national park within its boundaries and is known as the “Green City in the Sun”.
